Artwork & Color Policy
Last updated October 19, 2026
At Versus Sportswear, we take great care to ensure that finished garments closely reflect their approved designs. However, digital mockups are visual representations rather than exact physical samples, and certain variations may occur during production. This policy explains which variations are considered normal and which may be treated as production errors. If you have questions, contact us at [email protected].
1. Digital Mockups & Color Accuracy
Digital mockups are intended to represent the overall appearance of a proposed design. Colors displayed on electronic screens may differ from the colors of finished garments due to differences in screen technology, display settings, brightness, lighting, fabric materials, and printing processes.
When preparing production artwork for printed garments, Versus Sportswear uses physical CMYK color charts printed on garment fabric to select the colors that most closely represent the intended design. Although we make every reasonable effort to reproduce the intended colors, exact matches to digital mockups cannot be guaranteed.
Minor differences in color shade, brightness, or saturation between a digital mockup and a finished garment are considered normal production variations and do not, by themselves, constitute defects.
However, substantial differences from the intended design, including an incorrect color family, a clearly incorrect hue, or a material deviation from an agreed production color, may constitute production errors and will be reviewed accordingly.
2. Physical Color Matching
For customers who require a specific color match, we recommend providing a physical garment or color sample for reference, or arranging to select colors in person using our printed fabric color charts.
Please contact your assigned Versus Sportswear sales representative or our support team at [email protected] before placing your order if you need assistance matching an existing color.
We will make every reasonable effort to select the closest available production color. However, exact reproduction of a physical sample or selected chart color cannot always be guaranteed due to fabric and production limitations.
When a specific physical reference or production color has not been agreed upon, our art team will select the closest appropriate available color during production preparation using our physical color charts.
3. Color Differences Between Fabrics
The same intended color may appear differently when printed on different fabrics, garment materials, or product styles.
Differences in fabric composition, texture, printing characteristics, and manufacturing processes can affect the final color. Variations may also occur between production runs.
Versus Sportswear makes every reasonable effort to achieve consistent colors across products, but exact color matching between different fabrics, garments, or production runs cannot be guaranteed.
These differences are considered normal production variations when they fall within reasonable manufacturing expectations.
4. Design Placement, Sizing & Proportions
Digital mockups represent the intended overall design, including logos, graphics, text, patterns, colors, and general artwork placement.
Because garments vary in size, shape, cut, and construction, the dimensions, proportions, positioning, and spacing of artwork may require adjustments during production.
We make every reasonable effort to preserve the overall appearance and intended placement of the approved design.
Minor differences in logo size, spacing, alignment, positioning, or artwork proportions that result from adapting a design to different garments or sizes are considered normal production variations.
However, substantial deviations from the approved design may constitute production errors. Examples include:
- A logo or design element placed on the wrong side or area of the garment.
- Missing, incorrect, or reversed design elements.
- Materially incorrect graphics or patterns.
- Significant placement differences that do not reasonably reflect the approved design.
Such concerns will be reviewed under our Replacement Policy.
5. Artwork Approval & Customer Acknowledgment
By approving artwork and proceeding with an order, customers acknowledge that digital mockups are visual references and that reasonable differences in printed colors, design positioning, dimensions, and proportions may occur during production.
Artwork approval confirms acceptance of the overall proposed design, including its intended colors, graphics, patterns, and layout, subject to the reasonable production variations described in this policy.
Customers who require particular color matching or other specific design requirements should communicate those requirements to their sales representative or our support team before ordering.
This policy does not excuse manufacturing defects, substantial deviations from approved artwork, or failure to follow specific production requirements expressly agreed upon by Versus Sportswear.
6. Production Issues & Replacements
Minor and reasonable production variations are not automatically considered defects.
Potential manufacturing errors, including substantial color discrepancies or materially incorrect designs, will be reviewed in accordance with our Replacement Policy.
Refer to our Replacement Policy for reporting requirements, supporting evidence, eligibility, and resolution procedures.
